For many of us, school was a routine — something we took for granted. But for millions of children across India, education is still a dream wrapped in struggle. The lack of a notebook, shoes, or school fees can turn that dream into a dead end. It’s not a lack of intelligence or potential that holds them back — it’s simply the lack of resources.

At Bhole Ki Nagri Foundation, we have met children who walk barefoot to school every day. Some share textbooks with siblings. Some have dropped out altogether to work at tea stalls or ragpick to support their families. These kids aren’t lazy — they are caught in a cycle of survival. And that’s where our campaign Vidya Vardan steps in — to ensure that poverty doesn’t steal a child’s right to learn.

Vidya Vardan is built around the idea that even small support can prevent dropouts and spark transformation. From school bags and stationery to fee assistance and tuition help — we provide whatever it takes to keep a child learning. We’ve had cases where a ₹1,000 donation brought a child back to school after six months of absence. That’s how powerful targeted help can be.

One of the biggest issues we see is invisible barriers — children who want to study, but don’t have shoes, uniform, or the confidence to attend class in old clothes. These subtle obstacles often push them away from classrooms. Through Vidya Vardan, we ensure that a child walks into school with pride — wearing clean clothes, carrying their own books, and believing they belong.

Our Support

We also support tuition and coaching for older students who want to appear for board exams or entrance tests but lack guidance. Many of these students are first-generation learners — they have no one at home to help them with studies. Our volunteer teachers and scholarship donors give them that bridge — between desire and opportunity.

Digital education is another gap. With everything moving online, poor students are left behind due to no access to devices or even mobile data. In select cases, Vidya Vardan provides basic phones, earphones, or recharges so that children don’t miss out. We may not solve every problem, but with your help, we fill one gap at a time.

Education doesn’t just teach alphabets — it opens doors to dignity, livelihood, and identity. Through Vidya Vardan, we’re not just funding school kits — we’re restoring futures. Because a child who stays in school today is one less adult in poverty tomorrow. Your contribution can keep that cycle of hope alive.
